When I first came to Charlie I was the biggest I had ever been. I was a classic “yo yo” dieter with my weight fluctuating about 10 pounds between dieting and binging phases. I constantly felt bloated and tired and had decided that I couldn’t bear to wear a bikini ever again.

Charlie is supportive and extremely patient. I started off as a bit of a nightmare client – forgetful, ditzy and pretty clueless. Her level of knowledge in fitness and nutrition are second to none. I felt like I could ask her anything and I trusted her every word. I was never made to feel like an idiot (even when, week after week, I couldn’t remember the difference between my glutes and my hamstrings!!)

Charlie’s focus, combined with her encouraging and friendly attitude is incredible and perfect for a PT. Whether you’re feeling tired or unmotivated, have slipped up on your diet or even want some life advice(!), Charlie is kind, understanding and full of encouragement.

Charlie is also a flexible and hands-on trainer; if my diet required a shake up, I wanted to change a training date; needed a recipe or advice on what to order on a menu, Charlie was always there to help.

Since training with Charlie I have learnt to listen to my body. Charlie has taught me the importance of superfoods, good nutrition and that calorie counting isn’t everything. I now know what food I am less tolerant to, and equally what gives me energy, shiny hair and glowing skin. I feel stronger and healthier than I ever have before.

In the last 5 months I have lost over a stone and gained a tonne of confidence (and muscle!) I have a new attitude towards my body, a new mindset towards weight lifting and nutrition, and a new found love for bikinis!

If your looking for a trainer to help you achieve your fitness goals Charlie Francis is your girl! Charlie prepared me for my first INBA competition. In the time I trained with her my body was transformed! In addition, Charlie’s training sessions pushed me to perform at my optimal level and with plenty of variety so I didn’t get bored. Training with Charlie was a truly amazing experience and I couldn’t imagine preparing for my first show with anyone else.

I trained with Charlie 4-5 times a week for about 10 months while she lived in Australia. Charlie tailors each exercise and session to suit each individual person. I like to be pushed and during the time I trained with Charlie my strength increased significantly. I can now leg press 340kg for 10 reps! She also taught me about nutrition and how to read and react to my body and how it responds to food. I now eat twice what I did before I met Charlie and I have lost 5kg in weeks. I am now hoping to compete in my first figure competition next year thanks to Charlie. Charlie is not only extremely knowledgeable about training and nutrition, she is also one of the friendliest and most encouraging people I’ve met. She is greatly missed now she’s left Australia but is always there for me via email or text message.

I can’t recommend Charlie highly enough for a complete training and nutrition program.

I asked Charlie to devise a nutrition and lifestyle plan to help boost my fat and carb intake. For as long as I can remember I have always exercised and followed a healthy, low fat diet and have a sound understanding and real interest in nutrition…but as an (aging!) mum of 3 that can’t run anymore due to major ab surgery (the result of carrying twins!!) I was fully aware that my skin and body needed a boost to stay lean and strong. I have always been slim, due to the running, but after having the boys I had a real problem with bloating. The surgery in 2013 helped, but I was still experiencing problems and have never been totally happy with my stomach.

I knew of Charlie from the gym and liked her way of eating – I knew she would be able to help me improve my diet, reduce my bloating and help flatten / strengthen my stomach. And I was right! Not only has she introduced me to the best breakfast EVER, she also advised me to cut the cardio and do more ‘weight’ training. In just 1 week of following her advice I saw my stomach flatten dramatically, my legs felt strong and my skin looked healthier. Thanks to Charlie I feel lean and have more energy…she is such a good motivator, committed to you and your goals and knows her stuff! I would (and have!) recommended her services to anyone…she has really inspired me to learn more about health and nutrition.

What can I say, Charlie has given me my life back! Sounds rather melodramatic but it’s true. I’ve been stuck in a rut and really plateaued for what felt like an eternity. Took the plunge and hired Charlie just a few months ago in January and haven’t looked back. Her programmes are completely individual and she changes things up all the time so you never get bored. She takes each week at at time giving great advice all the way. I NEVER feel alone on this. She tailors weekly workout programmes and nutrition which I did not understand at all before and listens to everything you say. It hasn’t felt like a diet at all, it’s just a healthy lifestyle change. I’m now the smallest I have been and not even finished in years! I’ve lost inches, weight and gained muscle. She never criticises you (believe me I’ve slipped up a few times) I highly highly recommend her. Literally don’t know where to start with how AMAZING this girl is she has taught me so much and I couldn’t thank her enough without her today I would be a mess in health state. Although I’m still on my journey and I’m probably the worst client ever for falling off the path, Charlie never fails to get me back on track and push me to get closer to my goals.
If anyone ever wants help or advice she’s the perfect person to come to and it’s not an easy journey but Charlie makes it enjoyable aswell as hurting like hell after a leg session with her haha

Chris – Looking to loose weight and get fit

After 53 years of being over weight but fit, in fact a number of people used to tell me I was the fittest fat bloke they knew. I run half marathons and 10Kms races, played rugby, and I still go to the gym 5 times a week but I weighted over 18 stones, I am 6 foot tall and I realised I really needed help in changing how I lived my life to get fitter, slimmer and healthier. Charlie was the answer, she gave me information, structure, process, advice and inspiration to make the changes I needed to do to make the difference.

I took the Charlie 12 weeks course and at the end of it I had lost 22lbs, got fitter and felt 100% better. I now have a way of living that suits me and my new lifestyle i use the MyFitnessPal app to record what I have eaten and this has really helped me realise the make up of my meals, I now understand the importance of protein and what carbohydrates to eat and which to leave alone and my sugar consumption is almost zero and I look forward to filling it in every meal time to record what I have eaten. I have more weight to lose and more muscle to gain but working with Charlie has given me the confidence and positivity to carry on and become the person I know I can be.

I first contacted Charlie in December 15 to help me overhaul my diet as it had gone from OK to terrible after giving up work to be a stay at home mum.  Cake and biscuits had become the norm and my energy levels were zero.  Also, I had just started to exercise again and it was taking me ages to recover in between sessions.  Within a week I noticed a difference.  My energy levels soared and recovery was better.  This was not a fad diet, and food was plentiful.  Some days I was eating extra food just to ensure I had eaten enough calories! Charlie was available for advice and support whenever needed and was encouraging on “check in” day.  Now, 3 months on I am still eating well, following Charlie’s guidelines, and am feeling better than ever.

I started training with Charlie in mid May 2014. Although I had been training for several years, Charlie taught me so much about technique, diet and training. I went from “skinnyfat”, to muscular and lean within a four month period. I now have a body shape that I thought impossible to achieve. Even though she has left Australia and returned to England, I know that I can message her at any time for support, motivation and help with where I am currently falling down.

Prior to coming to resistance training, I had very little confidence in my abilities to make a real difference to my physical appearance. I was frustrated by the lack of results I wasn’t seeing and my own inability to stay motivated to keep going. This attitude was completely changed by Charlie.

As a trainer, Charlie respects that everyone comes to the gym for different reasons, and has different strengths and weaknesses. She pushes you to keep trying to better yourself, to surprise yourself, but never punishes you, criticises, or makes you feel like a failure when you can’t make it. She instead reminds you to know your own strengths, to feel proud that you are making a difference, and that there is always next time. A large part of this is due to her superior knowledge of sports sciences, the anatomy, and knowing the ins and outs of resistance training. With her guidance, support, and enthusiasm, I began to see real results from my training and started to feel better about myself.

Charlie also takes her responsibilities as a trainer one step further by actively getting involved in your diet and food plans. Her encyclopaedic knowledge of food, nutrition is staggering, and the advice and instructions she offers ensures that everything you putting out in the gym is returning to your body in a meaningful way during those rest periods.

Charlie is not only an exceptional personal trainer, she is an exceptional human being. She is kind, funny, bubbly and above all, nurturing. Training with Charlie has changed my life for the better.
